Since making her debut in 2023, she has already represented Sweden in 14 T20 Internationals, taking eight wickets at an impressive economy rate of 4.73, and contributing with the bat across five appearances, scoring a total of 20 runs.

Chamto is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and right-handed batter, a combination that offers her team depth in both departments. Her international debut came during the Europe Division Two qualifier in Jersey, part of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualification pathway.

In her debut match against Turkey at St. Clement, Chamto showcased both skill and composure. Sweden bowled out Turkey for a mere 51 runs, and chased it down with all wickets intact, sealing a 10-wicket victory.

Chamto made an immediate impact, returning tidy bowling figures of 1/9 in two overs. Her second appearance in the tournament saw her take another wicket, continuing her early form. While she didn’t add more scalps in the remaining matches of the qualifier, her consistency with line and length and her tight economy were evident.

She followed this up with another key outing in the 2023 Nordic Women’s T20 Cup, a tournament that proved fruitful for Sweden, who emerged as champions, securing 10 points from five wins. Chamto played in four matches, taking three wickets, further underlining her value as a reliable bowler in pressure situations.

In 2024, Chamto was named in the squad for the Italy Women’s T20I Tri-Series, a competitive outing that saw Sweden finishing as runners-up to hosts Italy. Chamto featured in six matches, claiming three wickets, including her best figures of 2/12, which came in a strong performance against Malta during the third-place playoff match. Though the series proved to be a mixed bag for her with the ball, her determination and energy on the field were unmistakable.

With the bat, Chamto has had fewer opportunities to shine, batting in just five innings across her 14 T20Is. Still, she has scored 20 runs, including contributions of 7 and 8 runs in the Tri-Series, though she was also dismissed for a duck in one game.

In a sport where opportunities for Associate nations remain limited, players like Hareer Chamto represent not just individual talent, but the growing structure and ambition of cricket in countries like Sweden. Her trajectory so far is a testament to discipline, patience, and a willingness to learn. Still early in her career, Chamto has already shown glimpses of the potential that could make her a key figure in Sweden’s cricketing future.

As she continues to evolve as a cricketer, one thing is certain, that Hareer Chamto is a name we’re likely to hear a lot more in the coming years – not just in Swedish cricketing circles, but perhaps on a much broader international stage.
